Preemie hat patterns

I've been on a search for a few different patterns for preemie hats, because I am a woman on a mission!
I found 2 hat patterns that I think are just perfect.
http://www.crochetspot.com/free-crochet-pattern-basic-preemie-hat/

that one is just a nice simple one worked in the round

and then there is this one that I plan on making this evening. I'm going to make it in a couple of different colors. I'll try to post some pics when I have them complete. I'm not the best about remembering to do that all the time, but i will try!

Back to school

So, since I've started thinking about going back to school, I really cant seem to get it out of my head. The more I think about it, the more I want to do it, and the more I think about it, and want to do it, the more I worry about failing. Then of course there is that worry, what if I cant get a job, what if I do get a job, and find I cant do the job, what if I get a job, and then everything goes out of business....I think I'm starting to over think things. I guess I should just wait for my information to come in the mail so that I can sit down, and look over everything rationally, and make a grown up decision.

Sometimes I wonder if maybe the reason I'm 32 years old, and only just now thinking about college is because once I started working, I wasn't allowed to stop as a teenager in high school. I wonder if the fact that I had to put working first, and high school education second played a roll in this. Had I been encouraged in my schooling and studies better, would I have actually gone on to college, instead of dropping out, and getting married, and then just doing a home study course to get my high school diploma. (well, at least I did get a high school education/diploma)

Am I unhappy??? No, not at all, I have a wonderful husband, a house, that does need some work, but we are slowly getting there with it...we have 3 great dogs...we have food, clothes, all the necessary stuff. And yes that is enough, but it would be nice to have a padded checking account. I wont lie about that. It would be nice to have one less bill to pay...and it would be nice to be able to trade in some cars for one that's not to the point where everything is just worn out and is having to be replaced at a steady rate.  Right now though, this is the way it is for a lot of people though. So I guess we fit in with the standard American way of living.  Do I want to be rich??? Well who doesn't dream about it, but I'm sure it wouldn't make me any happier than I am right now.

But back to the beginning, am I worrying to much about something that will help me to better myself, and possibly help us out when it comes time to retire??? I don't know, I cant rightly say, but I do know, its now or never.

just a bit longer

I was going to load up the pictures and the patterns today of the baby diapers....but for some reason my lap top does not want to cooperate...SO...tomorrow some time probably while the hubby is out mowing the lawn, I'm going to go upstairs and use the main computer and load up pictures and patterns.
Seeing as I only have one follower at the moment, I'm sure its not that big of a rush.

Well for anybody who might be reading my blog other than my favorite person...I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial day.  The hubby worked last night, so he slept for most of it today, but when he got up, we went to his parents house to deliver their anniversary present. Yesterday, Sunday the 27th of May was their 50th wedding anniversary. We got them a really nice plate, its silver with their names and their wedding anniversary on it. They really  seemed to like it, which is awesome. I guess next year for my parents 30th wedding anniversary I should do something nice for them too. Not sure what yet, maybe we will get them a plate too.

Anyways, better close this up, I need to flip the burgers before they burn.

Saturday Hooking

Aaahhh Saturday, the weekend...all right!!! LOL..OK, I do have some things I should do, like plan what I'm going to fix my Grandfather for dinner tomorrow, and get my hubby's lunch stuff ready for work tonight, and of course there is that constant thing that never goes away, Laundry.
I think however I'm going to work on finishing up my patterns for those tiny crocheted diapers so that I can share the patterns with all of you.  The great part is, for 4 different sized diapers, its only 2 different patterns. The difference is in the yarn and hook size, which really really really saved me a lot of time in the design process. I love love love to design patterns as you all will see, but its fun to discover how many different things you can make from 1 pattern, with the difference being hooks, and yarn.

I think tomorrow evening, I'm going to get back to work on that Amish doll. Its always great to take a step back from a project that I'm working on for a day or two so that I can come back to it with Fresh eyes, and a fresh mind set on it, so that it will come out the way I originally envisioned it.  Some people can just snap their fingers and design a project or doll, or just anything. I'm one of those who it takes a few days. I like to be a perfectionist. Yup, that's me, I'm a hooker who likes it perfect! LOL.

Anyways...guess I had better get started on my stuff so that I can play with my hooks and yarn!!!!

New Project

My Best Friend Lindsey and I are starting a small charity project. Its a beautiful thing. We are making crocheted diapers for babies who were born too soon, or were still born. Its something for those precious little babies, and their mothers to give a measure of comfort and love.  I will be posting the pictures and the patterns within the next day or two as soon as I have the patterns completely written.
Nothing in this world, could be harder than going through pregnancy and loosing a child. The heartache for the parents is a hard one, and one that I don't believe you ever truly get past.

I will have more details up later as this progresses. But for now, please stay tuned.

lets start with a quick introduction shall we

Hi, my name is Brandi, and I'm a crochet a holic. I dont really think I want help for this though, because I think its healthier than a lot of other habbits out there! :D

I have been married for over 7 years. (it will be 8 years in January) We have no children, yet...but we do have 3 Siberian Husky furballs. We have Nikki, Sam and Jasper.  Sam and Jasper love yarn, so I have to keep it up, up, up, and out of their way. (they will be 2 In January...that seems to be the magical month around here, because Nikki will be 13 that same month)

I have been crocheting for I would say about 6 years now. I love it! In fact, I have started designing some of my own stuff. I am hoping to have some patterns listed on Craftsy soon. Right now I am working on a crochted Amish Doll pattern. I love those dolls, they are so sweet. I promise, once I have the pattern perfected, I will post pics for everybody to see!!!

I also teach crochet classes here in my house. I only have one student right now, but thats alright. when I started I had more, but life kind of took some of them away. One of them is an instructor, one is going through a nasty divorce, and the other one only came because her daughter was coming. But thats ok, because I love Lindsey. We have gotten rather close through all of this, so life is good!!!!

Well thats about it for now, because its time for me to get some dinner started. More later!
